i know exactly what you are talking about.
and you dont sound like an idiot
there are people in my past who i still have feelings for.
and sometimes seeing them and talking to them hurt.
and sometimes im a dumbass and and sleep with them because i am lonely
fully well knowing that an actual relationship between us would never work out.
i want and need things that they can give.
at the time it feels right.
like it used to be…. easy….. simple…..warm
but the next morning it hurts.
at the time i loved them….and still do.
i think that if you truly love someone
(as long as they dont do anything harmful to you)
you will always love them. that love might change.
but it is still present.
